It was a few years ago and I was back east doing a series of shows with Bobby Caldwell when he asked me to stay a few extra days at his home and do some songwriting. I had collaborated with Bobby on a number of songs on his CDs, “Call Me Up”, “What About Me”, “I Give In”, and “Its All Coming Back To Me Now”, so I was really exited to see what we would come up with. He’s such an accomplished and prolific writer and it’s been an honor to be part of that process with him.

We were tossing around ideas and he played me the verse of "Hey Santa" and said he’d always wanted to write a Christmas song. The sentiment of a guy who had broken up with his love, pleading with Santa to bring her home as his only present request set the tone. We finished the song but didn’t have time to record it, so it sat on the back burner for years until this November when I revisited a rough version I had taped.

Having just put out our first CD “Home Free” under our duo name Pricey Diggs, my wife Annie and I decided to record our own version and arrangement of the tune I had always believed in.

With Bobby’s blessing we burned the midnight oil..and this is what we came up with.
